“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food” ~Hippocrates

At HCSRC the focus of our nutritional counseling is based on achieving a greater state of health through diet and exercise. As musculoskeletal practitioners, we approach diet from mainly an inflammatory prospective. We focus on the reduction of foods known to cause chronic inflammation and the incorporation of larger quantities of foods and supplements known to reduce inflammatory mediators in the body. It is amazing how many patients suffer needlessly with joint and muscle pain due to simple deficiencies in essential minerals, such as magnesium. In addition, most injuries we see are of the repetitive use variety. A key component to repetitive stress injury is chronic inflammation.
We feel strongly about reducing chronic subclinical inflammation through diet and supplementation. If you are interested in reducing pain and inflammation through diet, a link has been provided to Dr. David Seaman’s website. His site is full of helpful information including the “Deflaming Guidelines” that we use in our practice. In addition, we make available supplements from Anabolic Laboratories. These supplements are used to complement a balanced diet and help achieve maximum health and performance, while reducing chronic pain and risk of chronic disease.
